DOR Releases Details on Disaster Relief Sales Tax Rebate Program

Farm families looking to take advantage of the sales tax rebate program can begin the process of applying for refunds on the sales taxes paid on hurricane-damaged farm fencing and non-residential building materials that were purchased between Sept. 10, 2017 and May 31, 2018.

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) has released all rules and forms that farmers and ranchers need to submit along with proof of purchase. Any materials used to repair farm fences or non-residential farm buildings that sustained damage due to Hurricane Irma are eligible for the sales tax refund.

The window is still open, so be sure to continue collecting all receipts on fuel used for agricultural shipment through the end of this month for submission to DOR.
