ROOTED IN AG CONFERENCE HIGHEST ATTENDANCE

More than 370 young people from across Florida attended the state Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference last weekend, July 13-15, in St. Augustine.

The conference honored young agriculturists representing 26 county Farm Bureaus for their community service, selected finalists to compete for a statewide discussion meet competition and named three finalists for the coveted state Achievement in Agriculture Award.

The top four semi-final discussion meet contestants who will advance to the final Discussion Meet competition in October at the Florida Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting are Candace Munz of Leon County, Brian Norris of Charlotte County, Jared Smith of Union County and Zachary Sweat of Collier County.

The Achievement in Agriculture Award finalists are Chance Clay of Putnam County, Adam and Ashley Cook of Gilchrist County and Andrew Taylor of Walton County.

Conference goers were able to choose from 16 different engaging break-out sessions on the topics of Ag Business, AgVocating, Environmental and Family Farm Dynamics.  The 2019 Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference will be July 12-15 in Daytona Beach. View recap video.
