Hunger Shootout
Polk County Farm Bureau's annual Hunger Shootout brought together members, sponsors, and community supporters for a day of sporting clays competition with a purpose — fighting hunger in Polk County. The event raised thousands of dollars and collected hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food items for local food banks.
Participants competed in teams across multiple shooting stations, with proceeds benefiting the Polk County food bank network. The event has grown each year, reflecting the deep commitment of Polk County's agricultural community to giving back.
"Agriculture feeds the world, and we take that responsibility seriously right here at home," said PCFB Program Director Sarah Waldman. "The Hunger Shootout is one of our favorite events because it combines the things our members love — the outdoors and helping neighbors in need."
Sponsors played a critical role in making the event a success. Polk County Farm Bureau thanks all participating businesses and individuals for their generous support. The funds raised will provide meals for families across Polk County throughout the year.
