Months after devastating hurricanes swept through Florida, thousands of farm families are still waiting for federal disaster relief. Florida Farm Bureau Federation continues to press Congress and the administration for swift action as agricultural losses continue to mount and recovery remains out of reach for many producers.

The storms caused widespread destruction to Florida's citrus groves, vegetable fields, nurseries, and livestock operations. Preliminary estimates put total agricultural losses in the billions of dollars, with some operations suffering total losses that may take years — or may never fully recover.

"The disaster doesn't end when the storm passes," said Florida Farm Bureau President Jeb Smith. "For our farm families, the disaster continues every single day that Congress fails to act. We need a comprehensive relief package now."

Florida Farm Bureau is working alongside the American Farm Bureau Federation and Florida's congressional delegation to advance emergency supplemental appropriations that would provide direct payments to affected producers, fund infrastructure repairs, and support long-term recovery efforts.
