The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is the nation's largest general farm organization, representing more than six million member families across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Founded in 1919, AFBF serves as the leading voice of farmers and ranchers in Washington, D.C. — advocating for public policies that advance agriculture and strengthen rural communities.
Polk County Farm Bureau is connected to AFBF through the Florida Farm Bureau Federation. Our members benefit from national-level advocacy, programs, and resources that AFBF provides, while also receiving statewide support from Florida Farm Bureau and local service right here in Polk County.

Since its founding in 1919, AFBF has been defined by a true grassroots policy development process. Every January, farmer and rancher delegates set AFBF's formal policy agenda after deliberation on the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture in the coming year.
